2018 Recap
2018 was an exciting TENTH year for CHRIST Ministries of Texas. We were involved in the following ministry work during the past year:

  • We started 2018 in January by repairing a broken water line for an elderly couple. They live in a very old pier and beam home. They are both in their late seventies and he is a Vietnam veteran. They contacted us through Carpenter’s Way Baptist Church. We enjoyed the fellowship with them and are thankful that we could make the repairs.
  • We repaired and patched a mobile home roof for a lady in Huntington. We also fixed a water leak inside and replaced a cracked bathroom fixture that had been broken for several months. I would call this lady the “working poor” like so many in our community. She owns an old mobile home and is just making enough money to pay the monthly bills while raising and supporting her elementary–
aged daughter. She was very appreciative of the help.
  • We paid for the materials for a wheelchair ramp for a man who was injured in a logging accident. We teamed up with some of his friends to get the ramp built. We were all blessed to be able to help.
  • We provided some materials and worked for two days at a home in Huntington with a group of Messianic Jews from Wills Point, Texas. The front porch of the home was rebuilt and new shingles were put on the roof. It was an interesting experience to work with this group.
  • We helped to clean up and haul off a burnt mobile home for a wonderful Christian couple that attend Harmony Hill Baptist Church. The home had been totally destroyed in a fire.
  • We provided materials and labor to repair a roof for an elderly man in the Fuller Springs area.
  • We built a wheelchair ramp for a couple in Lufkin. The wife had lost part of her leg from diabetes and was in a cheelchair. They live in a pier and beam home and it was very hard for her to leave home or even get out of the house.
