2017 Recap
2017 was an exciting ninth year for CHRIST Ministries of Texas. It was also an interesting year for this organization and for me personally. Three events are especially notable:

In May 2017, our friend and fellow CMOT director, Kenneth Reynolds, went to be with the Lord. His friendship, encouragement and the love he had for Jesus will be missed by all of us.

In July, after 34+ years of working for Contractor’s Supplies in Lufkin, I said my goodbyes and officially retired. I am still trying to get adjusted to my new routine.

Lastly, in November, my mother Ivaline Parrott died following a short illness. She loved the Lord and showed the Love of Christ to all right up until the day of her passing.

Below is a list of the projects CMOT was involved with in 2017. I want to thank you for being a partner with us in this ministry.

  • We repaired/replaced a broken house window for a single mom.
  • We paid medical expenses for a young man who had been through drug rehab and was working, but did not have any health insurance. The man continues to work and appears to have turned his life in a positive direction.
  • We paid an electrical bill for a lady with two small children. She was working at a local fast food restaurant, but when the business closed for several weeks she was not getting paid and could not pay all her bills. Her electricity was turned off for several days before we heard about her situation, but we were able to get the electricity turned back on.
  • We partnered with Huntington First Baptist Church to renew the immigration work status of one of their church members.
  • We partnered with Clawson Assembly Church, Carroway Funeral Home and others in the community to help pay the funeral expenses for our friend, Kenneth Reynolds, when he died suddenly with no life insurance.
  • We received a request for help from the Angelina County Adult Protective Services asking if we could replace the water heater at a lady’s home.
  • We moved furniture for an elderly lady when she relocated to a different home in Lufkin.
