2016 Recap
2016 was an exciting EIGHTH year for CHRIST Ministries of Texas. God continues to send to us people whom He wants us to help. We were involved in the following projects:

  • We helped a single mom pay her house rent.
  • A school social worker contacted us about a family whose 10–year–old son was confined to a wheelchair after he suffered an asthma attack and did not receive medical treatment soon enough to prevent brain damage. This led to the following ministry assistance:
    • We built them a wheelchair ramp.
    • We worked with Centerpoint/Entex and Strickland Plumbing to get gas service turned on at their home.
    • We installed a new gas space heater that was given to our ministry by one of our ministry partners.
    • The family had been preparing meals with a propane fish fryer in their kitchen, so a ministry partner gave, delivered and installed a gas stove.
  • For a lady who needed some help, we bought new tires for her car.
  • We bought a new tire for a young mom who was stranded in front of Gateway Tire and did not have the means to get her car fixed.
  • We partnered with Strickland Plumbing to fix water leaks in an elderly lady’s home.
  • We built a wheelchair ramp for a disabled man in Huntington.
  • We partnered with Brookshire Brothers pharmacy on Chestnut Street in Lufkin and paid for prescription medicine for a person in need.
  • We teamed up with other ministry friends to help pay part of the medical expenses for a father of five who fell and broke his ankle and did not have the upfront money needed for surgery.
