2022 Recap
2022 was our FOURTEENTH year for CHRIST Ministries of Texas. It seems our ministry has changed due to COVID, and the guys that have provided the “hands on” assistance over the years have all gotten older. This year we referred two or three construction projects to the group Neighborhood Strong. They are a local nonprofit group that has a full–time crew, and gets grant money to assist people in this area. CHRIST Ministries will continue to help those folks that God sends our way.

These were our ministry projects this year:

  • We built a wheelchair ramp for a man in the Rivercrest area of Angelina County. He hurt his back several years ago and now requires a walker.
  • We donated money to help an elderly couple whose home was completely destroyed by a tornado. Luckily the couple were not hurt when the roof of their home was blown off and almost everything inside was destroyed.
  • We sponsored a reading program for the kids at Coston Elementary School. This school is located in the Atkinson Drive/North Timberland Drive area of Lufkin and is composed of 60% Hispanics, 20% African Americans and 20% White kids.
  • We partnered with Brookshire Brothers Pharmacy and paid for prescription meds for an individual that needed assistance.
  • We paid a monthly car note for a man that was about to have his vehicle repossessed. This man is on government assistance and did not have the money to make this payment. The man was able to pay the car note off this year, then donated this amount of money back to CHRIST Ministries.

Thank you again for being a partner with us in this ministry.
